PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microencapsulated fire extinguishing agent not to be the load of destruction of the ozone layer in order to protect the ozone layer. SOLUTION: The microencapsulated fire extinguishing agent uses liquid dibromomethane as a core material and the fire extinguishing material has a desired shape by mixing the fire extinguishing agent with a hardening resin binder and hardening the mixture. When the fire extinguishing agent and fire extinguishing material are heated by irradiation heat from a fire, a microcapsule wall and a hardening polymer binder are destroyed by the vaporization gas pressure of the dibromomethane. Then, dibromomethane gas is discharged so as to extinguish the fire. The dibromomethane is not a controlled substance of the ozone layer destruction. Consequently, even when the gas is discharged in an environment, it shows a role for protecting the ozone layer and also a high fire extinguishing effect. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
