<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve already-known measuring probes, and in particular, the structure of bath contacts used for these probes, thereby enhancing the reliability of measuring probes. <P>SOLUTION: This measuring probe for measuring molten metal comprises a measuring head 1 disposed on a dip end part of a carrier tube. Further, at least one sensor 2 for determining the constituents of the molten metal and a bath contact 7 are disposed on the measuring probe. The bath contact 7 has a front bath contact area 9 when viewed in the dipping direction. The contact area 9 comprises two surface areas perpendicular to the dipping direction and disposed on two side parts. A material stable in molten iron or in molten steel is disposed in the two surface areas in the contact area 9. Further, a material stable in molten iron or in molten steel is disposed in only one surface area at the maximum in a rear bath contact area 10 while this material does not exist in an opposite-side surface area in the contact area 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
