<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield for use of an inertial measurement unit (IMU), including an inner ring with an external surface and an outer ring with an internal surface in one embodiment. <P>SOLUTION: The inner ring of the shield includes a recess, and the outer ring includes a protrusion. The protrusion at least partially interlocks with the recess with each other while a high speed rotation occurs, to prevent the inner ring from excessively rotating in relation to the outer ring. The shield may further include an elastomer positioned between at least part of the inner ring and at least part of the outer ring. This is for improving shielding performance against vibration and/or impact during the operation of the IMU and attenuating the impact while the shield brought into contact with the bottom during generation of the large impact. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
