PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile object bearing determination device and method capable of determining an absolute bearing of a mobile object without passing through two points apart, and also a navigation device capable of accurately displaying the bearing of a vehicle or the like by applying the technology. SOLUTION: Image data generated by photographing a bearing information mark 102 with a camera mounted on a mobile object 101 is image-processed in the mobile object. A difference angleΔθformed by a reference direction of the mark expendientially indicated asθ<SB>0</SB>and a movement direction of the mobile object is calculated from a positional relationship among three cutout patterns contained in the mark. Further, a coded pattern representing an absolute bearingθ<SB>0</SB>corresponding to the reference direction of the mark is decoded from an image of the mark. An absolute bearingϕ=θ<SB>0</SB>+(-Δθ) corresponding to the movement direction of the mobile object is calculated by adding the absolute bearingθ<SB>0</SB>of the reference direction of the mark and the difference angleΔθof the reference direction of the mark to the movement direction of the mobile object.
