A data updating device (100) is provided with a control section (103) for updating data stored in a storage device (104) mounted on a mobile body. In the data updating device, an acquiring section (101) acquires mobile body information relating to the status of the mobile body. Based on the mobile body information, an estimating section (102) estimates whether a power supply required for data updating processing by the storage device (104) turns off or not while the data updating processing is being executed. When the estimation result shows that the power supply is to be turned off while the data updating processing is being executed, the data updating processing is executed up to a prescribed updating status, and the data updating processing is interrupted. Then, when the power supply does not turn off within a previously set stand-by time, the interrupted data updating processing is restarted.
