<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system and a printing method, for creating a list of a proxy printing destination wherein only a printer having an important function in proxy printing is extracted. <P>SOLUTION: In this printing system 1, a print job using a prescribed function is transmitted to one of printers Pr1-Prn on a network NW from a host computer Hc1-Hcn. When an error occurs in print processing in the printer Pr1-Prn, the host computer Hc1-Hcn acquires function information of all the printers Pr1-Prn on the network NW, compares the acquired function information and the prescribed important function among functions designated in the print job, and creates the list with the printer Pr1-Prn having the essential function as a proxy print candidate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
