PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method and a manufacturing apparatus for a stator which industrially and inexpensively manufacture the spirally wound stator. SOLUTION: A jig 20 is used and has a holding groove group 23. The holding groove group 23 has a pitch as an integer multiple of a pitch between slots 12 in a stator core 10. Coils are arrayed in a line along the circumference of the jig while one side Ca of a plurality of the coils C is protruded from the jig to the outside and the other side Cb is inserted into the holding groove group. An auxiliary member has a plurality of blades, and is installed on the end face of the jig. One side of the coils is held in a gap of the corresponding blades. The jig is inserted from the auxiliary member to the inner circumference of the stator core. After one side of the coils is pressed into the corresponding slot of the stator core, the jig is turned at a predetermined angle. After the holding groove group is positioned so as to be matched with the corresponding slot of the stator, the other side of the coil is inserted into the corresponding slot by a pushing means.
