<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably discriminate index, from a photographed image, where the index arranged in real space is photographed. <P>SOLUTION: The index detected in the image is discriminated, based on the attitude of an imaging apparatus and the attitude of the index deduced from already-known information on the coordinates of the index, along with deducing the attitude of the index from the photographed image.
