<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for molding an instrument panel with an air bag door part, a hinge function of which is improved by inhibiting the residing of a stress to a hinge part attributed to a molding process. <P>SOLUTION: This molding method comprises the following processes: (1) a process A to mold an air bag chute main body constituted of a frame body part, a flange part and a stepped part formed at an intersection part of the former two, using a first molten resin raw material made up of a rigid material, (2) a release agent application process B to apply the release agent to the upper surface of the stepped part, (3) an air bag chute molding process C to mold a flap part, using a second molten resin raw material made up of a flexible material at the air bag chute main body part, so as to allow a hinge part and an apex to be loaded on the stepped part even after molding shrinkage, (4) a molding shrinkage process D to mold-shrink the apex of the flap part after the apex is separated from the stepped part, and (5) a vibration-welding process E to vibration-weld an air bag chute to an instrument panel main body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
