<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrocarbon system polymer electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell exhibiting excellent durability without generating cracks and breakage even if expansion and contraction are repeated by wetting and drying. <P>SOLUTION: This is the polymer electrolyte membrane containing a hydrocarbon system polymer electrolyte, and the amount of dimensional change in surface direction when it is transited between a wetting state and a drying state is smaller than the maximum elastic deformation amount in surface direction in the drying state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
