<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image retrieval method facilitating retrieval of image. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU reads recording data Dr (S1) and forms an image index file Fi (S2). The CPU converts photographing position data of the image index file Fi to photographing place-name data (S3) and sorts the records (S4). The CPU forms a place-name index HTML file HMp (S5) and further forms a date index HTML file HMt (S6).
