A manifold (24) for use with a fuel cell assembly includes a first layer (30) and a second layer (32) that are molded simultaneously. In a disclosed example, identical epoxy resin bases are used for both layers. A first layer includes carbon reinforcing element (4) while a second layer, which faces an inner side of the manifold, includes glass reinforcing fibers (42). The second layer electrically isolates the first layer from the fuel cell assembly.
