Disclosed is a method for removing residue from a surface comprising: contacting the surface with a composition comprising at least one unsaturated fluorinated hydrocarbon selected from the group consisting of compounds having the formula E- or Z-R<SUP>1</SUP>CH=CHR<SUP>2</SUP>, wherein R<SUP>1</SUP> and R<SUP>2</SUP> are, independently, C<SUB>1</SUB> to C<SUB>6</SUB> perfluoroalkyl groups, or C<SUB>1</SUB> to C<SUB>6</SUB> hydrofluoroalkyl groups, and recovering the surface from the composition. The fluorinated hydrocarbon is also used as a solvent composition, in a method of depositing a fluorolubricant on a surface and in a process for removing at least a portion of water from the surface of a wetted substrate |
