<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is more reduced in toner consumption as compared to a conventional image forming apparatus, and can effectively suppress color shift in a shorter processing period of time. <P>SOLUTION: Test toner images formed in an equal time interval over one rotation of a drum are formed on each photoreceptor drum to obtain its mark position information. A reference different value group composed of difference values between respective positions of respective black marks on an intermediate transfer belt and respective positions of respective marks of another color on the intermediate transfer belt which correspond to respective reference marks is calculated on the basis of the mark position information. A virtual after-rotation difference value group composed of difference values between respective black positions and the positions of respective marks shifted by one mark of test toner images of the other color is calculated only by one rotation of the photoreceptor drum, and the rotational position of the photoreceptor drum of the other color is adjusted in accordance with the difference value group selected from these difference value groups and having the smallest misregistration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
