A connection system according to priority between an audio system and a portable terminal and a method therefor are provided to offer connection priority in Bluetooth connection between the audio system and the portable terminal and efficiently connect the audio system with the portable terminal. If a certain connection command is received, an audio system(110) selects a certain portable terminal(130) according to predetermined priority, confirms an identification number of the selected portable terminal(130), and identifies a Bluetooth address identifier corresponding to the identification number. The audio system(110) transmits a connection command to the corresponding portable terminal(130) through the identified address identifier, and receives a response according to the connection command. If the connection command is received through Bluetooth from the audio system(110), the portable terminal(130) transmits the response according to the connection command through the Bluetooth address identifier.
