A wireless home network system using ZigBee and its configuration method are provided to minimize errors and losses in transmitting and receiving packets by effectively defining a transmission/reception packet structure of a home network system. In order to check an arbitrary device that intends to perform ZigBee communication, a home gateway(100) requests an ID of the device, checks type of the ID of the device received from the corresponding device, transmits a generated home code to the device by using ZigBee communication, and transmits the entire packets having the added home code to the device through ZigBee communication for a home network binding test. Multiple devices(203-1-203-n) transmit their device IDs to the home gateway through ZigBee communication, set the home code received from the hone gateway as their network home code, check the received entire packets to check the home code test packet, transmit the home code test packet to the home gateway, and are switched to a communication standby state.
