Inventions relate to the treatment of materials by grinding and can be used for highly productive treatment of the flat surfaces of components from hard-to-work materials. The method of grinding of flat surfaces consists in that the abrasive tool is installed at an angle to the workable surface and brought to rotation around the first axis, which coincides with the axis of abrasive tool. In accordance with the invention, the abrasive tool is in-addition brought to rotation around the second axis, perpendicular to the workable surface and crossing with the axis of abrasive tool. It is brought to translation rotation around the third axis, perpendicular to the workable surface and not crossing with the axis of abrasive tool. Device for grinding of flat surfaces contains a housing with mounted in it planetary spindles connected with the spindle of machine tool, each of which with the help of the first planetary pinions is cinematically connected with the first fixed sun gear, and cutting abrasive tools are also installed on the planetary spindles. In accordance with the invention, each cutting abrasive tool is installed on the planetary spindle with possibility of rotation relative to the latter. The rotational axis of abrasive tool forms an angle with rotational axis of planetary spindle, moreover each cutting abrasive tool through the shaft of planetary spindle with the help of the mechanism of transfer of rotation is cinematically connected with the second fixed sun gear. Inventions ensure the improvement of supply of lubricating-cooling technological media into the zone of cutting and accomplish the criterion of sufficiency of adsorptive-plasticizing Rehbinder effect, which contributes to the improvement of the quality of workable surfaces and to increase of the capacity of working.
