A plasma display apparatus and an image processing method thereof are provided to suppress a halftone noise by adjusting the gray scale difference between pixels based on spatial and temporal edges. A plasma display device includes first and second edge detecting units(310,320), and an edge enhancing unit(330). The first edge detecting unit detects a spatial edge from a current frame image signal. The second edge detecting unit detects a temporal edge between the previous and the current frame image signal. The edge enhancing unit increases a gray scale difference between a pixel corresponding to at least one of the spatial and temporal edges and an adjacent pixel, in an image signal of the current frame.
