A method for shaping perm of hair is provided to maintain the shape of keratin fiber for a long period of time without using a mechanical tension applying tool, require lower sensitization level of the keratin fiber than that of a standard permanent-wave forming process, and conveniently form the permanent wave on the hair. The method comprises the steps of: (a) applying a reduction composition(A) comprising a keratin fiber reducing agent such as sulfite, bisulfite and thiol and at least one organic salt or mineral salt such as ammonium salts and alkali metal salts into keratin fibers; (b) after shaping the keratin fiber into predetermined shape through styling, applying a composition(B) comprising at least one fixing polymer selected from the group consisting of anionic fixing polymers and amphoteric fixing polymers in an aqueous medium, an alcohol based medium, or an aqueous-alcohol based medium; (c) after leaving the keratin fiber for a predetermined time, applying a fixing composition(C) comprising an oxidizer such as hydrogen peroxide, urea peroxide, bromate, persalt and mixtures thereof to the keratin fiber; and (d) after leaving the keratin fiber for a predetermined time, washing the keratin fiber. The step(b) is performed by shaping the keratin fiber into predetermined shape through styling and then applying the composition(B) to the keratin fiber, or applying the composition(B) to the keratin fiber and then shaping the keratin fiber into predetermined shape through styling, or shaping the keratin fiber into predetermined shape with applying the composition(B) thereto.
