A tablet composition comprising an extract of natural herbal plants is provided to secure the stability against moisture by mixing at least 50 wt.% of a dried extract of natural herbal plants with adequate amount of pre-gelatinized starch, lactose, microcrystalline cellulose and silicone dioxide. A method for preparing a tablet from the tablet composition is provided to obtain the tablet with a size of 0.5-0.6 times that of a conventional tablet and excellent content stability and disintegrating property. The tablet composition comprises at least 50 wt.% of a dried extract of natural herbal plants, 1-10 wt.% of pre-gelatinized starch, 2-10 wt.% of lactose, 10-25 wt.% of microcrystalline cellulose, and 0.2-5.0 wt.% of silicone dioxide. The method for preparing a tablet comprising an extract of natural herbal plants comprises the steps of: (a) uniformly mixing the tablet composition; and (b) after adding 0.1-1.0 part by weight of magnesium stearate to 100 parts by weight of the tablet composition to obtain a mixture, directly tabletting the mixture. The method further comprises a step of coating a primary coating material on the tablet, a coating a secondary coating material on the tablet or performing the two coating steps in sequence.
