The protective vest (1) has a ventral element (2) and a dorsal element comprising independent projecting parts formed of polypropylene foam blocks which are enveloped in lycra fabrics and boucle fabrics to provide flexibility to the ventral and dorsal elements, respectively. The ventral element protects chest and abdominal walls, and the dorsal element protects an individual`s back. An adjustable hooking and connecting unit connects the dorsal and ventral elements.
