An execution method when a disc error of an optical disc reproducing apparatus occurs is provided to enhance system operation reliability by recording corresponding status information as a log file when an error of a system or a disc itself is generated, returning to an event of a log file generation time when the same disc is played later, and automatically executing the disc. If a certain disc is inserted(S200), an MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) IC inquires code information of the disc(S202). If code information about the disc does not exist(S204), the MPEG IC stores the code information of the disc(S206) and performs play operation(S208). The MPEG IC judges whether a system down phenomenon is generated(S210). If the system down phenomenon is generated, the MPEG IC records status information in the system down as a log file(S212). If the code information about the disc exists, the MPEG IC judges whether a log file of the disc exists(S214). If the log file of the disc exists, the MPEG IC returns to an event in which the log file is recorded and automatically executes the disc(S216-S222).
