PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely absorb moisture stuck to an object to be treated by a water absorption pad. SOLUTION: The spread base for water absorption is provided with: a planar water storage tank 1 equipped with an opening 2; the water absorption pad 25 for absorbing the moisture stuck to the object A to be treated such as footwear, the sole and a tire; and a support 15 which is provided on the water storage tank 1 and is to be mounted with the water absorption pad 25. The support 15 is provided with a flat support surface 18 for horizontally supporting the water absorption pad 25. On the support surface 18, a plurality of water passing holes 18 for making water extruded from the water absorption pad 25 flow out to the water storage tank 1 when the object A to be treated is mounted on the water absorption pad 25.
