Motor generators (IWMR, IWML) are assembled in front wheels (FR, FL) and drive the front wheels (FR, FL). An ECU (36) judges whether or not any failure occurs in a steering device comprising a steering actuator (28), tie rods (30), and a steering angle sensor (32) on the basis of the operating angle (??s) of a steering wheel (22) from a steering angle sensor (26) and the steering angle (?D) of the front wheels (FR, FL) from the steering angle sensor (32). When the ECU (36) judges that a failure occurs in the steering device, the ECU provides a torque difference to the torque commands of the motor generators (IWMR, IWML) according to the operating angle (??s) of the steering wheel (22).
