PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool and a machining device improving machining accuracy, machining quality of a workpiece, and extending the life of the cutting tool. SOLUTION: The thickness of a knife 1 made of tool steel is about 1.0 mm. The width of the knife 1 is about 7 mm and the length is about 50 mm. Piezoelectric elements 2a, 2b made of a rectangular shape PZT system piezoelectric ceramic having a length of 10 mm, a width of about 5 mm and a thickness of about 1.0 mm are bonded to the knife 1 with an epoxy resin. The piezoelectric elements 2a, 2b are provided with a silver electrode on whole area at the both ends and polarized in the thickness direction. A lead wire is jointed to the electrodes of the piezoelectric elements 2a, 2b with solder, and the lead wire is connected to an ultrasonic oscillating circuit not shown in figure. Power is input to the ultrasonic oscillating circuit, and an alternating voltage of approximate 2MHz is applied to the piezoelectric elements 2a, 2b through the lead wire.
