Direct strand reduction process to manufacture metal strip from hot casting block via holding oven, induction oven and mill train

In a direct strand reduction process to manufacture metal strip (1), in the first stage the casting machine (2) forms a thin slab (3) which is surrendered via a holding oven (6) and an induction oven (7) to a mill train (4, 5) and rolled using the primary heat. The holding and induction ovens are either activated or de-activated, depending upon the mode of operation, i.e. intermittent or continuous operation. Also claimed is a commensurate assembly.
