PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of performing defrosting operation while continuing heating operation, and capable of jumboizing it while maintaining miniaturization. SOLUTION: The air conditioner is provided with a first bypass circuit 6 for connecting between an indoor heat exchanger 3 of a heat pump type refrigerating cycle and a decompression device 4 and a suction side of a compressor 1, and the first bypass circuit 6 is provided with a two-way valve 7, a first coolant heater 8, and a second coolant heater 21. The air conditioner is further provided with a second bypass circuit 9 connecting between a four-way valve 2 connected to the refrigerating cycle and the indoor heat exchanger 3, and between the decompression device 4 and an outdoor heat exchanger 5. The second bypass circuit 9 is provided with a two-way valve 10. Upon defrosting of the outdoor heat exchanger 5, the two-way valve 7 of the first bypass circuit 6 and the two-way valve 10 of the second bypass circuit 9 are released and heating and defrosting operations are performed.
