PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scale removing method for surely and easily removing scales adhered and deposited on a wheel implanted part by simple operation and a steam turbine to which the method is applied. SOLUTION: This scale removing method comprises the step of mounting a scale removing container on the wheel implanted part when the scales adhered and deposited on the wheel implanted part formed in the wheel of a turbine wheel, the step of filling a washing fluid into the scale removing container mounted on the wheel implanted part, the step of heating the washing fluid by immersing the wheel implanted part in the washing fluid, the step of providing vibration to the wheel implanted part immersed in the washing fluid, and the step of drying the wheel implanted part by blowing hot air thereonto after the scales are removed.
