PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CCD type solid-state imaging device, method of driving the same and digital camera in which power consumption of a transfer path can be reduced without using divisionally formed transfer paths. SOLUTION: A CCD type solid-state imaging device comprises a plurality of photoelectric converting elements formed in an array shape on a semiconductor substrate and a transfer path for transferring signal charges detected by the photoelectric converting elements in accordance with the quantity of received light. In such a CCD type solid-state imaging device, a horizontal transfer path 103 is divided into a plurality of sections A, B and a transfer pulse applying means is provided which applies a transfer pulse (ϕH1A,ϕH2A), (ϕH1B,ϕH2B) independently for each section A, B. When signal charges are not transferred in the section B, application of the transfer pulse (ϕH1B,ϕH2B) is stopped, thereby attaining saving of power consumption. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
