PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of demonstrating satisfactory cleaning performance for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes; a cleaning brush 81b which has a voltage applied thereto to attract residual toner; a power source 83 for brush which applies a voltage to the cleaning brush 81b; a recovery roll 85 which has a voltage applied thereto to recover the residual toner on the cleaning brush 81b; a power source 87 for roll which applies a voltage to the recovery roll 85; an ammeter 84 which measures a current flowing between the power source 83 for brush and the cleaning brush 81b; and a control part 90 which controls the voltage applied to the recovery roll 85 from the power source 87 for roll into a voltage corresponding to the current measured by the ammeter 84.
