PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device capable of removing toner stuck on a rotating brush for cleaning a photoreceptor drum, without having to apply pressurized stress to the toner, and maintaining stable detoning performance over a long period of time. SOLUTION: A recovery roller 60 for recovering the toner on the rotating brush 52 is provided at a position, in contact with the rotating brush 52 for cleaning the surface of the photoreceptor drum 12. The recovery roller 60 rotates in a direction of arrow C, and a voltage whose polarity is reverse to that of the toner is applied by a power source 64 on the recovery roller 60. A scraper member 66 is provided on a side opposite to the rotating brush 52 of the recovery roller 60. The scraper member 66 includes a scraper base body 76 for removing the toner on the recovery roller 60, and a projecting part 78 that forms a gap larger than the particle diameter of the toner in between the scraper base body 76 and the recovery roller 60. Consequently, upper toner T that is stuck to the recovery roller 60 is removed, without being pressed against by the scraper base body 76. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
