FLUORESCENT GLASS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fluorescent glass exhibiting fluorescence having high fluorescent intensity in a wavelength region close to 580-590 nm, that is useful for increasing the content of vitamin C in vegetables and fruits, without necessitating secondary processing such as laser light irradiation, in glass exhibiting red fluorescence by ultraviolet-ray excitation. SOLUTION: The fluorescent glass contains Eu3+as a fluorescent medium and exhibits red fluorescence by ultraviolet-ray excitation. The fluorescent glass contains F-as the anion and 5-20 mol% Eu3+based on the total cation in the glass. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
