<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately adjust the density of a finished image even when an output voltage from a density sensor is varied over a predetermined value. <P>SOLUTION: The surface of an intermediate transfer belt (image carrier) 16 is detected by a plurality of density sensors 26, respectively and the states of the respective density sensors 26 are determined based on the respective detection results. A toner patch (density adjustment pattern) to be detected by the density sensor 26 determined as abnormal (density sensor whose detection result does not satisfy predetermined conditions) is formed in a position (position to be detected by the density sensor 26 determined as normal) different from a position to be detected by the density sensor 26 on the intermediate transfer belt 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
