TRANSPARENT COMPOSITE MATERIAL, SURFACE-TREATMENT METHOD FOR GLASS FIBER FABRIC AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING TRANSPARENT COMPOSITE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colorless transparent composite material having excellent transparency and heat resistance, small linear expansion coefficient and low optical anisotropy and usable as a substitute for glass. SOLUTION: The transparent composite material is composed of (A) a maleimide copolymer containing (a) at least one kind of structure unit selected from the units expressed by general formulas (1-1) to (1-5) and (b) a structure unit expressed by general formula (2) or (3) and (B) a glass fiber fabric. The invention further provides the cases that the glass fiber fabric is a glass cloth, the light transmittance of the composite material is≥80% at 400 nm wavelength, and the average linear expansion coefficient between 50°C and 150°C is≤50 ppm/°C.
