PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press apparatus, which is used in a press system comprising the press apparatus and a loader for carrying-in/carrying-out a workpiece to the press apparatus, and can support a heavy weighted workpiece by means of a small size loader. SOLUTION: The press apparatus comprises an upper press board, at least one intermediate press board, a lower press board, and a press board driving means which can vertically move at least one of the press boards arranged in the press board portion for pressing the workpiece between the press boards, wherein the press board driving means comprises a changing means for switching-over a first driving mode for moving the intermediate press board and the lower press board in parallel with each other and a second driving mode for moving the press boards between a first state that the press boards in the press board portion are separated from each other and a second state that the press boards have come into contact with each other via the workpiece.
