An image processing apparatus, an image processing method, an image processing program, and a recording medium for storing the program are provided to reduce the throughput for color conversion and shorten the time for color conversion by reducing an input image, performing color conversion on the reduced image, and enlarging the converted image. A reducing unit(2) reduces an input image. The first color converting unit(3) performs color conversion on the image reduced by the reducing unit. An enlarging unit(4) enlarges the image converted by the first color converting unit. The second color converting unit(7) performs color conversion on the input image. An output image generating unit(8) generates an output image from at least one of the image enlarged by the enlarging unit and the image converted by the second color converting unit.
