PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data transmitting system which enables a system process to correctly access a file to transmit image data to an image processing device even if a character string which can be correctly recognized only in a user process is included in a path name which a user designates, and also provide a program therefor. SOLUTION: When the head of a path name designated by a user includes a tilde mark for a path name of a broadcast communication file (S310: YES), a PC 1 acquires a character string, which shows a home directory, from an environment variable (S320) and changes the tilde mark to the character string which shows the home directory (S330). When the head of a path name designated by a user does not include a slash mark "/" (S340: NO, S350: YES), the PC 1 acquires a character string, which shows a current directory, from the environment variable (S360) and inserts the character string, which shows the current directory, into the head of the path name (S370).
