PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel capable of installing compactly a load sensor on a vehicle, and detecting a load applied to the wheel, and having low cost in mass production. SOLUTION: This bearing device for the wheel, which is formed by interposing a plurality of rows of rolling elements 5 between each rolling contact surface 3, 4 of an outer member 1 and an inner member 2, supports rotatably the wheel relative to a vehicle body. A strain sensor 14 for detecting strain of a bolt 13 is provided on the bolt 13 for fixing a member on the fixed side between the outer member 1 and the inner member 2 on a knuckle 12 constituting a suspension device. A load calculation means 15 for estimating an external force applied to the wheel or a working force between a tire and the road surface by an output from the strain sensor 14 is provided.
