PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of increasing the rolling yield of slab rolling and the efficiency of a rolling mill by minimizing shearing and crop loss about the rolling of a built-up metallic slab especially in the rolling of a built-up slab. SOLUTION: The built-up slab is composed by providing at least one second slab to a core slab and the edges of the slab may have cutout and/or a tapered shape. By this method, at least one side of the slab edges which run in parallel to the rolling direction, by using the core slab having the reduction of cross-section in the thickness direction of the slab, the shearing and the crop loss are reduced by rolling the built-up slab.
