PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unisex single restroom which generates sounds to mask excretion sounds securely only when being used by a woman uses but does not generate unnecessary sounds when used by a man. SOLUTION: A single rest room 1 is constructed by placing a western style toilet 2 with plumbing in a single room surrounded by a wall 1. The toilet seat 3 of the western style toilet 2 has a seating sensor 4 which detects a user sitting down on the toilet seat 3 and generates an output signal current. The front wall 1a has two doors: a women's door 7 and a men's door 8. A women's door opening sensor 6A and a men's door opening sensor 6B are placed near the women's door 7 and a men's door 8, respectively. By these sensor 6A and 6B, it is judged whether the user is a man or a woman. Only when the user is a woman and the seating sensor 4 detects a sitting, a sound generating apparatus 5 is controlled to be in operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
