PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating electric machine having a support method for preventing deformation harmful to a rotor coil and electric wire deformation without degrading electric characteristics and cooling characteristics even if a rotor coil section surface gravity center protrudes from the tip portion of the pole iron core. SOLUTION: In this rotating electric machine having a rotor where a plurality of poles 3 having the rotor coil 6 on the pole iron core 4 are fixed and supported at an outer periphery part of a rotor yoke 2, a plurality of wide tip portions 17 protruding more outward than the rotor coil section surface gravity center are provided at the pole iron core tip portion 4a brought into contact with an outer edge surface of the rotor coil 6 in an axial direction of the pole 3 to support a centrifugal force of the rotor coil 6 by the wide tip portions 17.
