PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a coefficient of performance of a refrigerating cycle by reducing a degree of superheat of a compressor suction side coolant, in regard to a vapor compression type refrigerating cycle using carbon dioxide being a natural coolant as a coolant. SOLUTION: The vapor compression type refrigerating cycle is operable in a supercritical state, and it is characterized by that the coolant compressed by a compressor is cooled by a radiator, pressure reduction of the cooled coolant is carried out by a first pressure reducing means, the pressure-reduced coolant m is branched off by a coolant branching means, pressure reduction of one of the branched coolant m1 is carried out by a second pressure reducing means, a cooler is provided for carrying out heat exchange between the pressure-reduced coolant m1' and the coolant between the first pressure reducing means and a third pressure reducing means, pressure reduction of the other coolant m2 branched off by the coolant branching means is carried out by the third pressure reducing means, the pressure-reduced coolant m2' is evaporated by an evaporator, the evaporated coolant m2'' and coolant m1' after passing the cooler are mixed by a gas-liquid separator separating the coolant into gas and liquid, and the mixed coolant is guided to the compressor.
