PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial water-purifying agent which is excellent in handleability when used for water purification, can maintain water purification capability for a long term, and can easily identify the degree of lowering the water purification capability; and a production method of the antibacterial water-purifying agent. SOLUTION: The antibacterial water-purifying agent comprises a plastic pellet 2 and an antibacterial powder 3 adhered to the surface of the pellet. The antibacterial powder 3 is prepared by finely cutting a laminate which is formed by covering both surfaces of a film 4 consisting of a metal having antibacterial properties with plastic films 5, 6. The laminate is prepared by forming the film 4 consisting of a metal having antibacterial properties on the one side of the plastic film 5 and by forming the metal-film protecting layer 6 by coating the surface of the metal film 4 with a synthetic resin.
