PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion composition for hairdressing which exhibits good spread on hair, is excellent in hairdressing properties and hairdressing holding power, and can decrease stickiness and roughness. SOLUTION: The emulsion composition for hairdressing contains a wax and/or a hydrocarbon oil solid at ambient temperature, vegetable gelatin, a nonionic surfactant, and water. The nonionic surfactant is preferably a sorbitan fatty acid ester optionally subjected to polyoxyethylene addition and/or a glycerin fatty acid ester optionally subjected to polyoxyethylene addition.
