PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate or reduce the risk of deformation of a bottom bracket by bending of an axle. SOLUTION: The bottom bracket assembly (1; 101) for the bicycle is provided with two cranks (4, 6; 104, 106); the axle (2; 102) integrated with the crank and rotated; and two bearings (8, 9) rotatably supporting the above assembly (1; 101) relative to a box (16) of a frame of the bicycle. Each of the above bearings (8, 9) is arranged in one thickness of the respective cranks (4, 6; 104, 106). Thus, the weight of a cyclist applied to the cranks (4, 6; 104, 106) is directly transferred to the corresponding bearings (8, 9) without generating bending stress on the axle (2; 102) of the bottom bracket.
