The opening aid (3) which fits onto the cap (2)of the bottle (1) has a circular internal wall (5) from which a gripper (6) protrudes inwards to run inclined in the opening direction of the cap relative to the radial direction. The length of the gripper is sufficient to engage in a groove of the cap so as to entrain the cap when the opening aid is turned. The gripper is preferably a resilient metal leaf.
