<p>Welding rods for use with a variety of steels, using electric arc welding techniques with or without protective gas atmospheres, consist of a soft steel casing and a flux-making core. The easier cleaning of flux from the welded product, and better appearance of the weld, are brought about by addition of 0.5-2% or more of an alkali(ne earth) titanate to the powder core when a protective gas atmosphere is used, and a further addition of 0.5-2% or more sodium silicate when no gas is used.</p> |
