METHOD OF MATRIX FILTERING WITHIN DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS

A matrix filtering method in a digital image process device is provided to improve the filtering effect and increase the process speed in a matrix filtering process by using matrix data with a jump structure. A digital image process device performs matrix filtering on respective pixel data areas of an image data by using matrix data, thereby changing the definition of the image data. The matrix data has a jump structure, which excludes neighboring pixel data areas of each pixel data area. The pixel data area of the image data to be matrix-filtered is updated by matrix filtering. The matrix data include the pixel data areas to be matrix-filtered and neighboring pixel data areas.
