An engine hesitation prevention method is provided to improve stability and durability of an engine by sensing engine vibration caused due to engine hesitation through an acceleration sensor. An engine hesitation prevention method includes steps(S1~S4) of judging the variation of output values of an acceleration sensor mounted on an inter cooler at predetermined time intervals if the vehicle travels at a constant speed higher than a predetermined level; and a step(S5) of sequentially reducing the exhaust gas recirculation amount and boost pressure if the variation of output values of the acceleration sensor does not fall within a predetermined range.
