1355008 Moulding compositions FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 23 Feb 1972 [1 March 1971] 8298/72 Headings C3R and C3P A thermoplastic moulding composition comprises (a) 95-40% by weight, based on the composition, of a linear saturated polyester derived from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and 65-98% be weight, based on the total diols, of ethylene glycol and 2-35% by weight of a diol of the formula in which R 1 is hydrogen or a C 1 -C 4 aliphatic radical and R 2 is a C 1 -C 4 aliphatic radical, and (b) 5-60% by weight, based on the composition, of a copolymer of 92À5-77% by weight of styrene and 7À5-23% by weight of acrylonitrile, the composition having a reduced specific viscosity (measured in a 1% solution of phenol/tetrachloroethane 60 : 40 at 25‹ C.) of at least 0À9 dl/g and a moisture content of less than 0À02% by weight. The examples describe compositions containing a polyester derived from terephthalic acid, ethylene glycol and 2,2-dimethyl 1,3-propanediol. |
